To test the functionality of the 3D muscle fiber bundle, we measured muscle contractile force after electrical stimulation at different frequencies (0.5, 1, 2, and 4 Hz). Active muscle contraction was readily observed, with a maximum muscle force at 0.5 Hz of approximately 2 μN (0.25 mN/mm 2).
